Davao Light pushes e-bill service

The Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) is encouraging government institutions and private establishments to avail of its electronic bill or e-bill service.

Davao Light launched a new supplemental service called eBillTxt to allow its customers to receive electronic bills via Short Message Service (SMS) commonly known as text.

The eBillTxt is Davao Light’s latest paperless option to receive monthly electricity bills and view them anytime, anywhere. This service is part of Davao Light’s innovative way of providing its customers with easy and efficient options for checking their bills and meeting their ever-changing needs. Thus, improving customer experience and satisfaction level.

Fermin Edillon, head of the Reputation Enhancement Department of Davao Light, said on Wednesday that only 30 percent of their customers have availed of eBillTxt.

Edillon said they are encouraging their new customers to utilize the e-bill service.

“Aduna mi programa karon na paperless bill. Kung naa kay mobile data or internet facility puwede ka mu download sa app namo. Kung wala kay mobile data puwede sa text ginatawag na e-bill text. Puwede namo ipadala through text and imong bill ug naay attachment ana niya nga puwede nimo ma-open kung naa kay internet connection kay naa nay kauban na electronic bill. Puwede pud namo i-email ang bill. Gina encourage namo not only the government institutions as well as private corporations na mu-avail aning services namo,” Edillon said during the AFP PNP Press Corps media briefing at the Royal Mandaya Hotel on Wednesday.

Aside from providing convenience, Davao Light also encourages the switch from paper to electronic bills to help save the environment by reducing paper waste.

“Why gi-promote namo ang electronic billing? Para mu-adapt ta sa trend ug i-utilize ang available technology. We are not saying na dili nami magpadala ug physical bill but we are just encouraging our customers to avail this type of service,” Edillon said.

Customers may avail of the eBillTxt service by registering through the link posted on Davao Light’s official Facebook page or by sending an email request to Davao Light. Once a customer is enrolled, they will already start enjoying the benefits of receiving bills through SMS.
