The stage is set for what could be the year’s biggest team golf competition this coming July 13 and 14,2024 dubbed as FORE THE BOYS 3 on 3 golf tournament at the Rancho Palos Verdes and Sports Club and South Pacific Golf and Leisure Club..
The unique competition is a 2 in 1 golf tournament offering mouth watering Hole in One and raffle prizes to be held in two golf courses of Davao with each course having its own defining character and identity.
“What is unique about this format is, it’s basically a team competition made up of three golfers in a team with 3 winners to be declared in three formats. Winners in Palos Verdes Golf, winners in South Pacific golf and the overall winners for the aggregate scores. The Rancho Palos Verdes will host the Aggregate format using the Molave Scoring System (Individual Play, all to count) while the South Pacific Golf Club Davao will follow the Ambrose mode of play using the Best Ball format. Teams can be all men or all women regardless of age but must be amateur players” said Bates Bullecer of the Fore The Boys Organizing committee.
Each team will have the opportunity to win multiple awards in this thrilling 2-in-1 tournament. Winning in one format will not prevent your team from also winning in the other. Moreover, every member of the winning teams will receive a beautifully crafted trophy from Casa Escultura.
All Par 3s of the two courses have designated varying prizes for Hole in One. A brand new Toyota Vios, a golf cart, a motorcycle, a Taylor Made golf set and Smart LED television sets are at stake on designated par threes. Major items are up for grabs for hole-in-one in each assigned pin placements.
Up for grabs in this tournament are prizes for Team Net Champion, Team 1st runner up to the 8th runner up for the Men’s Division both for Palos Leg and South Pacific Leg with the Team Net Champion for the Ladies up to the Team 2nd Runner up for Palos and South Pacific legs.
An overall Team Net champion will be chosen from the total net aggregate scores for the two courses. However, winning the Overall Award automatically eliminates the team from winning in the other formats. Each member of these teams will also receive a larger trophy.
Molave point system will be applied for this tournament wherein the player must pick up beyond gross double bogey or when they reach gross triple bogey.
“We have decided to use the two courses to accommodate maximum number of participants who have signified their intention at the early part of this year. The format is new and unique which make the task more challenging but we already anticipated it and we are ready” says Reinz Jordan Yamyamin of the organizing committee.
Registration is pegged at P30,000 per team inclusive of giveaways for 3 players and covers the green fee, raffle entry, and dinner at the awarding ceremonies to be held on July 14,2024 at the San Josue resort in Buhangin, Davao City.
