An official of Ayala Malls Abreeza told the media on Friday that Ayala Malls is earmarking P2 billion for its integrated mixed-use project expansion.

Janice Parreño, general manager of Ayala Malls Abreeza, said the planning stage has already started and construction works will commence this year.

She also said that they are hopeful the expansion will be completed by 2026.

“There will be some anticipated disruptions starting in the last half of the year and more so in 2025 but we hope to be opened by 2026,” Parreño said during the Business Forum at Hukad in Ayala Malls Abreeza.

With the expansion, Ayala Malls Abreeza is adding 22,000 sqm gross leasable area for the mixed-use building.

CAN, the firm appointed as the architectural designer for the expansion, said the project aims to reinforce the mall’s position as the premier shopping and lifestyle capital of Davao City and the entire Davao Region, with new offerings and improved customer experience through the 3-level retail mall expansion.

Based on CAN’s design, Ayala Malls Abreeza’s expansion building features a grand façade and a rooftop garden with a wellness concept, ensuring seamless connection and transition to the existing main mall, strengthening the mall’s breezy and resort-like feel.

“This expansion will be able to give our shoppers more options. This will be a tourism magnet for the Dabawenyos and the whole of Mindanao so they don’t have to go to Cebu or Manila to shop or eat in their favorite restaurants,” Parreño said.

Parreño said they also want to reinforce the mall’s value proposition, which is to be the premier shopping and lifestyle shopping center in the Davao Region.

“We want to be able to have some renovations as well the main mall so that it is updated in time for the reopening of our expansion. So, renovations in the main mall and expansion in the future. With the completion, we make sure that the whole mall is cohesive and updated,” she said.

Currently, there are around 58,000 sqm of gross leasable spaces in Ayala Malls Abreeza.
