Vice President Sara Z. Duterte faced the media on Tuesday afternoon and vowed not to keep silent anymore from all the criticisms and attacks hurled on her.
The vice president reacted to the accusation that she was just making a diversion from various issues including the use of confidential funds by attacking the President and his allies.
“Well it’s a tie. Kasi ang ginagawa nila na diversion from the nothingness that this country is undergoing. Ginagawa nila is a diversion sa kagutuman, sa kahirapan, sa taas ng presyo at sa kawalan ng mga Pilipino. Ginagawa ninyo akong diversion? Eh gagawin ko din kung ano yung ginagawa ninyo. Wala, talo na kayo. Kahit na anong gagawin ninyo,” Duterte said.
Duterte also responded to the allegation that she misled the Commission on Audit (COA) in the use of confidential funds while she was still serving as Education Secretary.
“Yung sinasabi nila na diversionary tactics yung sa akin? Bakit sila magsasabi na hindi ako sumasagot? Lahat ng pinadala nila na AOM (Audit Observation Memorandum) na sa kanila naman galing yun, di naman sa COA yun,” she clarified.
Duterte added that the COA is no longer exercising its independence.
“Wala namang independence ang COA ngayon, sinasagot namin in the proper forum, we answered, may cases sila sa Supreme Court, sinasagot namin. Ayaw ko lang sumagot diyan sa ginagawa nilang circus. Hindi naman ako ang nagmumukhang tanga diyan, sila dahil hindi na nila ginagawa ang trabaho nila and for what? Diversionary. Uy sabihin ninyo sa kanila gutom ang mga tao, gutom at wala silang pambili,” she said.
Duterte stressed she is fighting against the administration not because she is desperate but because she could no longer hold her silence.
“I am the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, so I am not going anywhere. So anong ikadesperada ko? Because they have never seen anything like Sara Duterte. Hindi ako maareglo, hindi ako mabayaran ng budget, hindi ako mabayaran ng pera, ang laki ng problema nila,” she said.
“So ngayon ayaw ko ng tumahimik. Noon walang nagsasalita kontra sa administrasyon, ngayon merong isang tao nagsasalita. I am not any of those. Ang problema kasi ngayon sa mga pulitiko, they have never seen a politician who has nothing to lose. They have never seen a politician na IDGAF (I don’t give a f*ck). Kung sa bisaya pa bahala mo dinha, makigdumog ko sa kanal,” she said.
