No bad blood between Sara and Leni: Baste

Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte commented on the meeting of her sister, Vice President Sara Duterte, and former Vice President Leni Robredo in Naga City last month, which surprised the opposition, saying the two officials have one denominator: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

The House of Representatives reportedly reacted strongly to their meeting claiming that it was a diversionary tactic by Vice President Sara to keep the issue of alleged irregularities on the funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) away.

“Gikan man na sa ilaha so mao gyud na ilang i-insist ug kung akoy mutan-aw ani naa gyud sila’y common enemy which is Marcos. Naa sila’y common denominator. Sauna pa nagkita na sila diri sa Davao, probably wala gyud na sila’y ingon na deep rooted na bad blood. Pero tan-aw nako naa gyud na’y common denominator, unya politika man ni unya election season naman, naa gyud na sila’y common na sintemyento, probably against the administration,” the mayor said during his podcast “Basta Dabawenyo” aired on Thursday evening.

The camp of Robredo announced that the meeting was more personal than political.

The vice president explained that it is part of her job to visit former vice presidents of the Republic of the Philippines.

She said aside from Robredo, she also previously visited ex-VPs Teofisto Guingona Jr., Joseph Estrada, and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
