Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Capt. Hazel Tuazon announced that a total of 26,198 police and security personnel from DCPO will be deployed for the upcoming Pasko Fiesta 2024 celebration, which will kick off on November 28, 2024.
Tuazon said DCPO has already conducted a coordination meeting with the security cluster for the month-long celebration.
“Nakahatag na ang DCPO ug number of PNP personnel, police auxilliaries ug naa tay 26,198 for DPCO alone wala pay labot ang other security cluster. Naa pa’y pagahimuon nga final meeting for Pasko Fiesta 2024. Para wala ta’y problema nga ma-encounter ug kung naa man andam gihapon ang DCPO sa paghatag ug seguridad, pagdungag ug PNP personnel naa tay standby nga PNP personnel nga makuha nato anytime,” Tuazon said.
Tuazon said security will be intensified for the Pasko Fiesta Year-End Party to be held at the Davao City Coastal Bypass Road in Bago Aplaya.
Tuazon said although there is no threat to security in the city, however, Dabawenyos are still encouraged to practice the city’s Culture of Security campaign.
Davao City’s Culture of Security is a people-centered campaign that encourages Dabawenyos to adopt vigilance as their way of life. The campaign “May Nakita? Dapat Magsalita!” is an order encouraging Dabawenyos to adopt the Culture of Security as part of their way of life.
The Culture of Security was conceptualized and launched by the city government of Davao and Task Force Davao (TFD) on July 1, 2020, to ensure that bombing incidents in Davao City will not happen again.
Meanwhile, this year’s Pasko Fiesta will carry the theme, “Stronger, Brighter, Happier Together,” which celebrates the solidarity and resilience of Dabawenyos.
The highlights for Pasko Fiesta 2024 are Dan-ag sa Davao ug Pag-abli sa Pasko at Rizal Park, Panayegon sa City Hall, Perya Pasko Fiesta, Music in the Park, Koro sa Pasko, Salo-Salo sa Pasko: Employees’ Holiday Food Bazaar, Pasko Panag-uban: A Rhythm and Joy Showdown, Banda Dasig, Mugna ug Para sa Pasko, Kasadya sa Pasko (Christmas on wheels), Siyam Ka Kadlawon (Misa de Aguinaldo at San Pedro ug Pamainit sa Pasko), Sayaw sa Pasko, Sing Along ni Pulong Season 6, Misa Dabawenyo, Pasko Fiesta Year-End Party At Davao City Coastal Bypass Road (Bago Aplaya), and Pasko Fiesta Grand Bazaar.
