City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) chief Jennifer Romero bared on Wednesday that the city government of Davao has allocated a budget between P45 million to P50 million for this year’s month-long Pasko Fiesta celebration, which will kick off on November 28, 2024.
“So far ang budget nato this year the same lang siya last year but it will not hinder us from coming up with worthwhile events kay ginapaningkamutan man gyud sa atong office na there is no going down but going up. We just need to be very creative, very innovative and we wanted to tweak our events in such a way na we can able to offer something new and exciting every event nato sa city,” Romero said during the Davao City Peace and Security Press Corps media briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
Romero reported that they are now at 80% in terms of the preparation and the remaining 20% is the installation of the decorations, including at the Davao International Airport (DIA).
She also said that they already sent invites to the VIPs including former president Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte.
“Naka-send nata ug invitation for the guests and this week until next week mag RSVP nata ug atoang i-check kung kinsa ang mu-join. The mayor (Baste) will be around. We also invited the vice president if available ang iyahang schedule. Former president Rodrigo Duterte we also sent an invite kay normal na sa list sa atong major events we will be sending them an invitation. As well as VIPs from the consular offices sa Davao, private sector and partners naa gyud na sila sa atoang listahan. We will be sharing once maka-receive ta ug updates kung available sila to join sa November 28,” Romero said.
Pasko Fiesta 2024 will commence with the “Dan-ag sa Davao” and “Pag-abli sa Pasko” on November 28 at Rizal Park, Davao City.
