A total of 15 motorcycles were impounded by the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) in the ongoing anti-illegal muffler or bora-bora operations in Davao City on Monday.
CTTMO chief Dionisio Abude said his office, together with the Davao City Police Office Traffic Enforcement Unit (DCPO-TEU) and other traffic enforcers, recently conducted a joint operation in Matina Aplaya after residents’ complaints of noise disturbance due to illegal mufflers that led to the confiscation of the motorcycles.
Abude said the violators disregarded City Ordinance 0334-12, which forbids the installation of modified mufflers in any kind of vehicle.
“Sumala sa atoang traffic code, mismo kato’ng tag-iya sa motor mao’y magdala og repairman, nga siya gyud ang motanggal ug muilis sa maong tambutso bago siya ma-release,” he said.
He also said violators will have to pay a P500 fine.
The city government of Davao, together with the CTTMO and the DCPO-TEU, continue to urge the public to be responsible and disciplined drivers to help ensure road safety for every Dabawenyo.
