The camp of Former President Rodrigo Duterte said the latter plans to proceed to the Batasang Pambansa and confront the members of the Quad Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) following the cancellation of the joint public hearing scheduled on Wednesday.

On Sunday, the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, Public Order and Safety, Human Rights and Public Accounts led by Rep. Robert Barbers sent an invitation to Duterte to attend the inquiry on his administration’s war on drugs campaign.

The former president made confirmation of his attendance.

Around 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, the former president departed from Davao City to Manila for the Wednesday hearing.

According to former presidential spokesperson Atty. Salvador Panelo the former president and his legal team, staff members and security details will march to Batasang Pambansa on Wednesday morning to confront the Quad Committee members as to why after demanding his presence and accepting their invitation and arriving in Manila Monday night, they will just cancel it without prior notice.

Panelo added the former president will ask the committee to schedule a “marathon hearing of ten days”.
