A fuming Vice President Sara Duterte warned early morning of Saturday that if she gets killed, so will President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez.
In a live online press briefing with Why? media and vloggers while she was with her Chief of Staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, the vice president accused Romualdez wants her dead.
Duterte and Romualdez are at loggerheads since the House denied her request for 2024 confidential funds last year.
The vice president even told a Diehard Duterte Supporters (DDS) vlogger that she already talked to someone to kill the President, First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Romualdez if she gets killed.
“Kasi may kinausap na ako na tao at sinabi ko sa kanya na pag mamatay ako, patayin mo si BBM, si Liza Araneta, at si Martin Romualdez. It’s no joke, no joke. Nagbilin na ako (mam), pag namatay ako, sabi ko huwag ka tumigil ha, hangga’t hindi mo mapatay sila and he said yes,” Duterte said.
Duterte also said that the country “is going to hell” as Marcos does “not know how to be president.” She also threw invectives at the President, the first lady, and Romualdez.
“Our country is going to hell because we are led by a person who doesn’t know how to be a president and who is a liar. Alam nyo kung ano ang pruweba ko na sinungaling siya? Tinanong ko dalawang businessmen, matagal na sa negosyo ng bigas, because I was concerned, this is a campaign promise. P20 na kilo so I really stand out and talked to these businessmen. Sabi ko sabihin mo sa akin, kung magagawa ba yang P20, sabi niya hindi. Napaka imposibleng gawin niyan because more than P20 ang cost. Paano ka magbenta ng palugi? So tinanong ko, nagsinungaling ba siya nung sinabi niya? He said outright, yes. Its either he did not know of what he was talking about and he’s so confident or he was lying to get the votes of the people. P… na ninyong lahat, Martin Romualdez, Liza Marcos, Bongbong Marcos,” she said.
Meanwhile, Malacañang reacted and called Duterte’s statement an “active threat” to the President and the First Lady’s lives.
In a statement, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has referred Duterte’s alleged “kill order” against the First Couple to the Presidential Security Command to take the appropriate action.
“Any threat to the life of the President must always be taken seriously, more so that this threat has been publicly revealed in clear and certain terms. Acting on the Vice President’s unequivocal statement that she had contracted an assassin to kill the President if an alleged plot against her succeeds, the Executive Secretary has referred this active threat to the Presidential Security Command for immediate proper action,” it said.
Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was instructed by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil to look into Duterte’s claim that she hired an assassin to assassinate the President.
In a statement, Marbil said the PNP acknowledged the seriousness of the vice president’s remarks.
