CAgrOs says fishing license, boat registration continues

The Fishery Division of the City Agriculturist’s Office (CAgrO) has released the schedule for the onsite fishing license and boat registration in the coastal barangays of the city.

Aimee Evora, Head of CAgrO’s Fishery Division, said in an interview with the Madayaw Program over city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) that their office will continue conducting onsite fishing license and boat registration this year.

Last year, CAgrO issued 1,865 fishing licenses and registered 865 boats.

Evora said that for this quarter, they have already scheduled a series of onsite fishing license and boat registration in different barangays.

She said that they have invited the PNP Maritime, Philippine Coast Guard, City Treasurer’s Office, and Philippines Crops Insurance Corporation, making the activity a one-stop shop for the city’s fisherfolk.

On January 28, the fishing license and boat registration one-stop-shop will be in Barangay 76-A Bucana, in front of the Barangay Hall located near the coast.

On January 30, it will be in St. John (Dapsa) in the same barangay, while on January 31, it will be in Malambuon within the same barangay.

A fishing license and boat registration will also be conducted in Dumalag, Matina Aplaya on February 4, in Seaside, Matina Aplaya on February 5, and in Agdao Centro on February 6.

Neighboring barangays like Lapu-Lapu, Agdao are also urged to do their registration transactions on February 6 in Agdao Centro.

On February 11, the one-stop shop will be in the Community Fish Landing Center in Barangay Lasang, while on February 12, it will be held in Purok 8, Muslim Village, Bunawan.

The venue for the February 13 registration will be in front of the Barangay Ilang Barangay Hall, while on February 18, it will be in Sirawan.

In the morning of February 19, the one-stop shop will be in Talomo Semento, and in the afternoon, it will be in Talomo Salakot.

Meanwhile, in the morning of February 20, it will be in the Muslim Village in Talomo, and in Purok 59, Talomo during the afternoon.

Fisherfolk living in Barangay 23-C and neighboring barangays may process their fishing license and boat registration on February 26, while those living in Barangay Sasa may avail of these services on February 27.

On March 4, the one-stop shop will be in Bago Aplaya, and in Dumoy on March 5.

Evora said the requirements for a fishing license include a cedula, and a duly-filled fisherfolk registration form.

Applicants must also pay P50 at the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO).

For the boat registration, requirements include a PNP Maritime Clearance Certificate proving that the owner has no record of any illegal fishing activity, a Barangay Certificate as proof of ownership, a P75 payment to the CTO for motorized boats, or P50 for non-motorized.

Owners must also be registered fisherfolk in the city to register their boats.

CAgrO is also reminding the public that the fishing license and boat registration is mandatory for both commercial and recreational fishing. CIO
