Davao City Water District (DCWD) spokesperson Jovana Cresta Duhaylungsod announced on Wednesday the DCWD is projecting to cater more customers this year through the re-implementation of the P500 water service connection installment option.
“We would like to announce considering that we have a lot of potential markets we cover with our available supply, gi-renew sa atoang board of directors ang offer na P500 installment option para sa katong mga mag apply ug new service connection,” Duhaylungsod said during the Davao Peace and Security Press Corps media briefing at The Royal Mandaya Hotel.
DCWD offers a convenient installment option for residential customers who are planning to apply for a new service connection. Instead of paying the P6,000 new service connection fee, applicants will only pay P500 outright for water connection with DCWD.
The remaining balance of P5,500 will be paid on a staggard basis for 11 months.
Duhaylungsod said with the installment option, DCWD has been able to increase its absorption and additional connections beyond the residential connections.
“In fact, ang atong target na 15,000 last year which was supposed to be double sa atoang usual target of new service connection prior to the bulk water distribution na hit na nato by August last year pa lang. So, we would want that more customers ang maka enjoy sa water service na barato ug limpyo ug mao nang gipadayon nato ang atoang installment option,” she said.
The installment option will run until December 31, 2025.
“Mas daghan pa gyud ang atoang gina project na ma-cater na mga customers karong tuiga. We are inviting everyone katong wala nakahabol last year, katong bag-o pa namalhin sa ilang bag-o na balay or property na they would want to use you can avail of this promo. This is for those applications na na-classify nato as residential you only have to pay P500 matauran naka and the remaining amount na P5,500 you will have to pay that at P500 per month for 11 months nga walay interest,” Duhaylungsod said.
She said it is the goal of DCWD to increase the number of service connections, particularly in the residential connections.
DCWD is considered the biggest water district in the country with a quarter of a million service connections. Eighty percent of the service connections are residential and the majority of the remaining 20 percent are commercial connections.
