DOTr, MNR to discuss Mati airport development project

In a significant move toward advancing infrastructure in Davao Oriental, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is set to meet with Mati City Mayor Michelle N. Rabat to discuss the much-anticipated Mati Airport Development Project.

The project is part of the CY 2024 program, focusing on landside civil works, including horizontal and vertical structures.

In an official letter dated January 8, 2025, Santa Zarata, Project Officer from the DOTr, informed Mayor Rabat about the details of the Php 87,965,545.62 project, which has been awarded to O.G. Santos Construction-Rakki Corporation Joint Venture.

The development project is expected to significantly enhance the capabilities and facilities of Mati Airport, aiming to benefit not only the local community of Mati City but also the entire region.

The letter highlights the department’s intention to conduct the courtesy meeting on January 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in collaboration with representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the contractor involved.
