Davao City’s revenue collection last year reached P13,411,775,117.29.
Atty. Lawrence Bantiding, Officer-in-Charge of the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), said in an interview with the City Information Office that this amounts to 105.35 percent of the target revenue collection in 2024 which was P12,731,143,382.
The 2024 revenue collection was also higher than the 2023 collection by 4.53 percent.
Bantiding said more than 20 percent of the city’s collection was from the taxes of local businesses.
“Considering the increase in our collection, it can be inferred that most business establishments also recorded increases in their gross sales or receipts. This is a good indicator that the economic activity in the city is also thriving,” he added.
The CTO also extends its gratitude to the taxpayers for religiously paying their tax obligations to the city.
“Such contribution is vital for the city to continue to deliver and provide better services for its constituents,” Bantiding said.
He also shared that the target revenue collection for 2025 is higher than the 2024 target by 12.69 percent amounting to more than P14 B. This increase is attributed to the increase in National Tax Allotment, and the projected increase in collection for real property taxes and business taxes.
Bantiding also assured the public that the CTO will continue to perform its mandate judiciously in order to properly collect what is due to the city and provide ample support and resources to the city. CIO
