Davao cops arrest alleged big-time supplier of illegal drugs in Davao City

The Bajada Police Station reported the arrest of an alleged big-time supplier of shabu in Davao City during a buy-bust operation in SIR Phase 1, Barangay 76-A on Thursday.

The suspect was identified as alias “Palo”, considered by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) as Top 1 Regional Level High Value Individual (HVI).

DCPO reported that a total of P522,648 worth of suspected shabu was recovered from the possession of the suspect.

Acting City Director Col. Hansel Marantan commended the police operatives and reiterated that DCPO is committed to serving with utmost sincerity and dedication to ensure the safety and security of the city.

Marantan also said that the DCPO continues its relentless efforts to combat the scourge of illegal drugs and bring the individuals involved to justice for the protection of all.

Marantan also acknowledged and appreciated the support of the barangay officials, the community, and the Local Government Unit in joining this campaign.

“Illegal drugs are a significant factor contributing to crime in various areas. Thus, the DCPO team will not cease conducting operations against illegal drugs to provide a safer place for all Dabawenyos,” Marantan said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 11 (PDEA 11) dismantled on Wednesday a drug den in Purok Suaybaguio B, Barangay Magugpo North, Tagum City in Davao del Norte.

The operation, which was conducted by PDEA 11, Tagum City Police Station, and the Philippine Coast Guard, resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals, including the drug den maintainer identified as alias “Hanz”, drug den employees and seven visitors, who were caught in the act of using suspected shabu.

Seized during the operation were seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less fourteen (grams valued at P126,000, along with assorted drug paraphernalia, and marked money.

PDEA 11 said the suspects will face charges under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
