Davao Travel Agencies Association (DTAA), Inc. president Gian Caguiat expressed optimism on Wednesday that the group will hit their targeted revenue of P20 million for the upcoming Davao Mega Travel Sale slated on February 21 to 23, 2025.
To be held at the activity center of Abreeza Ayala Malls, the Davao Mega Travel Sale is dubbed the biggest travel sale in Mindanao.
Caguiat said this year 12 travel agencies will be participating and will be offering discounted fares and packages from airfares to hotels to tours to cruises.
“Last year the event earned P18 million for the three-day event so this year kung hindi man namin mapantayan sana malampasan namin kahit isang milyon lang. Pero definitely we would still hit our target because maraming demands. Ang nakikita lang namin na difference is we cannot sell Japan for March, April, and May kasi medyo nagkakaroon ng delay sa visa. We are confident that with the products, the packages and airlines that we will be selling on the event would hit at least about P20 million this year,” Caguiat said during Wednesdays @ Habi at Kape media forum.
Caguiat said that the group is very excited about this year’s event because they will be offering tour packages from countries of the seven continents.
“In the previous years, what we offered was the six continents: Asia, Africa, North and South America, Europe and Australia. But now we are also offering Antarctica. Now more or less from the Arctic to Antarctica and everything in between, we can give it to you depending on your travel demands,” he said.
Caguiat also said that there are also new destinations that have not been visited that they want to offer.
“A lot of you don’t know that Dabawenyos are choosy, picky travelers and they want the best of everything. Nakapunta na sila sa lahat ng destinations and they crave for more. So, we will provide what they crave,” he said.
Caguiat added that this year they will be introducing ocean cruises during the event.
“Meron na tayo niyan before pero ngayon river cruises in Europe is in demand now and we can present that to you in the event,” he said.
This year’s Davao Mega Travel Sale carries the theme “Discover the Magic of Travel.”
