PSC releases Batang Pinoy incentives of Davao

The Philippine Sports Commission, through Chairman William Ramirez’s Sr. Executive Assistant, Ronnel Abrenica released the P150,000 incentive of Davao City for winning 3rd over-all place in the Batang Pinoy 2016 National Championships.

Atty. Zuleika Lopez City Administrator and Michael Denton Aportadera Officer-in-Charge of City Sports Development Division and City Anti-Drug Abuse Council received the award on behalf of Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio.

“The incentives offered to winners are not a lot but it shows the PSC’s recognition for the LGU’s efforts to becoming partners for sports development and most importantly it shows appreciation for the hard work the children put into preparing and participating in the Games,” said Abrenica of the cash award.

It would be recalled that the PSC offered cash incentives for the top winning LGUs in the said games. The Cities of Baguio and Cebu took first and second over-all place respectively in said event which was held in Tagum City.

Batang Pinoy is a national multi-sports event for children 17 years old and below. The 2016 edition gathered around 14,000 children from across the nation. This year, the games will have its Luzvimin legs before the national championship in February 2018.
