Unbeaten Gensan Flyweight Jayson Mama (11-0, 6 KO’s) of the Sanman Boxing Stable made excellent use of his superior fighting skills and speed to outclass and dominate less talented Chinese boxer Su Yinhuan (6-3-2, 1 KO) to score a ten rounds unanimous decision win tonight Sunday evening (Aug 5) at the plush Wynn Palace Cotai, Macao.
Jayson Mama, in his first fight outside of his native Philippines, boxed well from the outside landing repeatedly on the disorganized Su Yinhuan with left jabs and straight rights, and clearly outdoing him during the mid-range exchanges. There were no knockdowns and no boxer ended with a cut in a bout well conducted by Chinese referee Yu Gu.
The fight supervisor was Xiao Rong Qiang and the unanimous score cards reflected the reality of the battle: Chinese judges Xiao Rong Gang and Xu Hai Fong 96-94 and IBF International Judge Arnie Najera of 97-93 all in favor of the still undefeated Jayson Mama who advances in the prestigious IBF 2018 Silk Road Championships Tournament ongoing in the Chinese former Portuguese Colony of Macao.
Chairman Baham Mitra, head of the Philippine’s Games and Amusement Board (GAB) was the official in charge of awarding his winner’s trophy to his own compatriot Jayson Mama. Also in attendance during the winning performance was Mama’s promoter Jim Claude Manangquil, CEO of Sanman Boxing as well as Filipino IBF International Judge Greg Ortega of Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.
Also in attendance was IBF President Daryl J. People and IBF Ratings Chairman Anibal Miramontes who flew in from New Jersey, USA. It was a job well done for the 21 year-old Pinoy Jayson Mama tonight, and the IBF Silk Road Championship Tournament continues.
