The Philippine Sports Commission’s (PSC’s) leadership was officially turned over to newly-appointed PSC Chairman Jose Emmanuel “Noli” Eala today, September 5, 2022 at the PSC Main Grounds in Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Malate, Manila.
Former PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez formally turned over the PSC flag to chairman Eala to symbolize the passing on of leadership in simple rites that was conducted right after the agency’s flag-raising ceremony which was also attended by Commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo, members of the Management Committee, PSC heads, employees, and staff.
Eala will serve as the 11th chairman of the government sports agency since its inception in 1990.
“I wish to thank Chairman Butch [Ramirez] for coming over today. He is someone I always believed to display the leadership of a true public servant. Quiet yet firm and dedicated. He just told me that he was there to help us. And what he has done for this commission will forever be remembered. Maraming Salamat po Chairman Butch,” Eala said during the turnover of office.
Eala graces the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum for the very first time in a face-to-face session at the ground floor of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Eala will be joined by officials of the NCAA Management Committee led by chairman Estefanio Boquiron in the weekly sports program that starts at 10 a.m.
Eala is expected to bare his plans and programs for the government sports agency after succeeding William ‘Butch’ Ramirez at the helm.
The NCAA officials meanwhile, will discuss the league’s coming Season 98 which officially kicks off this Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Forum starts at 10:30 a.m.
The weekly sports program is presented by San Miguel Corporation (SMC), MILO® Philippines, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, Amelie Hotel Manila, and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
