It’s all set for the return of the Santiago Cup Golf tournament to be held on November 30,2024 at the South Pacific and Leisure Club.
“After a four-year hiatus the Santiago Cup is back and this time with a big bang “said Tommy Inigo, South Pacific Golf and Leisure Club Director.
Named after Santiago Cua, the former Chairman Emeritus of Philippine Racing Club, Inc., a prominent businessman with diverse interests including joint venture projects with the Santa Lucia Group that include among others significant land developments like The Orchard Golf & Country Club in Cavite and the South Pacific Golf and Leisure Club.
Mr. Cua first arrived in Davao in the early 1950s and established a coconut export business catering to markets in Europe and America. Over the years, his connection with the Davao community deepened through various ventures that includes his involvement with the South Pacific Golf.
The 18 hole one-day tournament will be an individual stroke play format using the Molave Points system on a single shotgun start at 8am.
Hole in One prizes await the lucky winners in all Par 3 holes which include two pin placements with different prizes. Hole No 3 will give a 1 year playing privilege and an Aircon Unit. It will be a Multi Media Speaker and 1 year playing privilege for Hole no.5. The same One year playing privilege awaits the winner for Hole No 13 and 15 with the second pin placement Karaoke (Hole 13) and Massage Chair (Hole 15). All hole in one prizes aside from the One year playing privilege are sponsored by 19th Hole Lounge.
Players will be classified into five (5) categories namely Class A, B, C, D and Seniors with trophies to awarded to the Gross/Net champions, first and second runners up per category with additional prize for the Overall Gross and net Champions. Participants must be at least 18 years of age during the tournament.
Registration is pegged at 4,000 pesos that includes the green fee, golf cart sharing, free practice round, give away, raffle ticket and buffet dinner during the awarding fellowship to be held at the South Pacific golf clubhouse right after the tournament.
The tournament will be on first paid first served basis as organizers want to control the number of participants. Only paid participants will be reserved for the playing slots.
