The South Pacific Golf Club Davao is opening its fairways to Davao-based professional golfers every Mondays as practice days without any fees.

“This will encourage our professional golfers to enhance their skills in preparation for national and international competitions,” said South Pacific Golf Club Davao Director Tommy Inigo at the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum, Thursday at the SM City Davao.

The Pro-Golf activity started last Monday, January 7 but a bigger undertaking awaits them on January 13 wherein a competition with prizes awaits the participants.

“It will not just be a practice round for our professional golfers but a competition will be at hand for them using the Best Score format. It will also be a gathering for our local pro golfers,” Inigo added.

The tournament will be supervised by pro golfer Bernard “Yok-Yok” Paquin.

Meantime, Team Davao Pilipinas is training its sights on another international stint when it sees action in the coming 2025 Vietnam Hoops Invitational this April.

According to Davao Pilipinas team manager and Basketball Avenue Sports Commissioner Aldin Celi, our squads will be seeing action in the 12 years-old and under, 14 years-old and under, 16 years-old and under and 18 years-old and under age group levels.

“We already have teams for the 12 years-old and under and in the 16 years-old and under. We still have to complete the line-ups for the 14 and 18 years-old and under categories,” added Celi during the weekly Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the SM City Davao Thursday. (DSA)
