A 12 year-old boy was found hanging by a piece of nylon cord inside his room on May 21, Sunday.
According to PCI Ramil Macarampat, San Pedro Police Station Commander, the boy’s mother Dionila Elesio told them that his son was suffering from appendicitis for almost a month.
Furthermore, he also said that this is the second suicide attempt of the boy because the mother had previously caught his son attempting to end his life early on.
Macarampat said that the mother was not able to seek the help of the physician considering that they are having difficulties with their expenses.
Police’s initial investigation revealed that around 12:45 in the afternoon of Sunday, the boy was found by his mother, lifeless inside their home at Purok 9-B Lower Madapo, Barangay 8-A, Davao City.
So far, the police also said that the victim had no traces of foul play.
It was not determined why the boy was desperate to end his life when appendicitis is considered curable and not life-threatening.
The victim’s cadaver was brought to Angel Funeral Parlor for further investigations to determine the cause of death.
