Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo clarified that her new radio program BISErbisyong LENI did not come about to counter the recent decrease in her trust ratings.

“Yung radio program, matagal na niluluto at ngayon lang natuloy,” said VP Leni on an interview with reporters on Monday. “Ito ay isang attempt na ma-reach pa yung mga ordinaryong mamamayan.

On Mother’s Day last Sunday, her new one-hour radio program with Ely Saludar broke to the air for the first time.

According to Leni, her radio program aims to reach out to unorganized groups or ordinary citizens who are staying at home.

“The radio program hopes to reach out to groups lalo na yung mga nanay na nasa bahay lang, di nakakapag-engage, di nakaka-participate, mabigyan ng boses.”

The vice president said that as of first airing yesterday, the program has been receiving a number of responses from listeners.
Leni downplayed initial bashers relating to the airing of her new radio show.

“Yang bashing, very minor lang yan compared sa mga benefits na magagawa ng program.”

VP Leni’s radio program will be aired at 9 a.m. every Sunday over RMN-dzXL 558 kHz with simulcast over RMN-Cebu, RMN-CDO, RMN-Davao and RMN-Naga.
