Davao del Norte police have filed robbery charges against perpetrators of Macondry Plastic Plant burning in Barangay Tagpore, Panabo City on April 29.
“On May 4, they have filed robbery cases against Elizalde Cañete alias “Ka Jinggoy”, Gualberto Aligato alias “Digoy” and other John Does which are responsible for the incident,” S/Supt. Marcial Magistrado, Davao del Norte Provincial Director revealed
According to Magistrado, the basis of the robbery case was after the suspects seized one shotgun and four handguns from security guards of the plastic plant.
S/Supt. Magistrado also said that the Bureau of Fire and Protection will also file arson charges against the said people considering that the cost of damage in the plant reached at about one billion.
“Hinihintay na lang natin ang result of the arson investigation of the BFP. And considering na umabot na sa one billion, more or less, the investigation was conducted by national level of the BFP.”
The burning incident started at 5:00 in the morning of April 29 and was perpetrated by more or less 100 members of lawless armed group, allegedly members of the Pulang Bagani Command I led by Ka Jinggoy resulting to the total destruction of 11 buildings.
The group then left the area using an L300 van owned by the plant and was discovered burnt at Barangay Malativas, Panabo City.
