Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio once again warned the public against individuals soliciting and holding fundraising activities for her to run in the 2022 elections.
The mayor cited the following activities that the public must be wary: government employees or private individuals asking contractors or businessmen to give money as contributions and individuals claiming to be in charge of fund-raising and requesting money from contractors or businessmen to be given through them.
Mayor Sara also asked the public to be cautious to individuals pretending to be employees of the City Government of Davao calling contractors and businessmen for money contributions.
“Please be warned that there is no fund-raising activity or campaign money solicitation for my benefit. All these activities are unauthorized and without my permission,” Mayor Sara said in a statement.
The public is asked not to give money or any other donation to these individuals and to immediately report this to davaocitymayor@gmail.com or the National Bureau of Investigation and Davao City Police Office (DCPO).
This is not the first time that the mayor is being used in these unscrupulous individuals and activities.
In April this year, Mayor Sara alerted the public against deceitful individuals involved in a real estate scam in Taguig City using a notarial stamp bearing her name.
A copy of the supposed contract that was entered into between two parties dated August 19, 2020, indicating the mayor’s alleged notary seal was shared by the City Information Office (CIO).
The mayor affirmed that said the signature was not hers and clarified she was not a notary public and never applied to be one.
Mayor Sara also emphasized that she no longer practices law, and does not participate in buy and sell of land, gold, stocks, and others.
