There is no single petitioner from Davao Region for the upcoming increase in transport fares, an official of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Davao (LTFRB-Davao) disclosed.
LTFRB has approved the fare increase for Traditional Public Utility Jeepneys (TPUJs) and Modern Public Utility Jeepneys (MPUJs), Public Utility Buses (PUBs), Taxi and Transport Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) today. Friday, September 16, following petitions filed by transport groups.
“Wala’y petitioner from Davao. Sa central tanan ang nagpetition. Upon checking sa website ng LTFRB and our emails, wala pa’y official na MC (memorandum circular) or board resolution regarding this matter,” LTFRB-11 Director Nonito Llanos III said in a text message.
For the basis of the fare hike, Llanos said LTFRB 11 would wait for the order from the central.
In the decision issued by the LTFRB posted on its Facebook Page, a P1 provisional increase was approved for TPUJ and MPUJ in the first four kilometers which will raise the minimum fare for TPUJ to P12 and MPUJ to P14.
There will also be an additional fare of P0.40 per kilometer for ordinary buses and P0.45 for air-conditioned ones, and an additional P0.35 per kilometer for provincial buses.
There is also a P5 increase in the flagdown rate of taxis and TNVS, where the minimum fare for taxis and sedan-type TNVS will be P45 and P55 for AUV/SUV-type TNVS. For the hatchback-type TNVS, the flagdown rate will be P35.
