The Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE) officially received the nod of the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB) to sell its land spaces last November 7, 2016. Recently, HLURB Regional Director, Atty. RM Miguel T. Palma Gil formally handed over the license to sell to VP for Anflo Industrial Estate Corporation, Ricardo F. Lagdameo.
Locators can now purchase lots in the 63-hectare industrial estate, alongside ready-built standard factory warehouses, that are set to accommodate agro-industrial and light manufacturing companies, with its up-to-date facilities. Billeted to be the next industrial frontier, AIE will be a self-sustaining special economic zone strategically located a few hundred meters from its affiliate company Davao International Container Terminal, which is touted as the Philippine’s most modern container port terminal.
AIE is the newest addition to the Anflo Group of Companies’ roster of successful business ventures in the Davao region. Palma Gil attests to the business conglomerate’s role as a key player in Davao City and Davao del Norte’s growth. He went on by saying, “The Anflo Group of Companies has been one of the developers that HLURB (Region 11) is happy to deal with. They have been part of Mindanao’s historical development.”
Asked how he sees this milestone of a project can contribute to the region, Palma Gil elaborated, “We are happy and proud that a local company is developing projects at par with national companies that went far ahead in the business. By providing employment and delivering good quality properties, the people of Mindanao will benefit greatly and with it comes the elevating of the standard of living of the community.”
Lagdameo considers this milestone as a welcome development not only to the operations of AIE but to boost the economic activities in the entire region.
“AIE positions itself as the gateway for multinational businesses to thrive in the region. We are positive that this development will send a signal to our international counterparts that business is safe and very viable in the region,” Lagdameo said.
Now that all eyes are on Davao, the HLURB encourages more homegrown developers to seize this high time for business. “I encourage the Anflo Group and other local companies not to be intimidated by the bigger companies and the new players in the business and I hope [Anflo Group] will have more projects in the future to ask HLURB a license for.” Palma Gil said.
It has been a favorable time for the Davaoeños ever since investors have been continually looking into coming to the south as they see Davao and its neighboring cities and municipalities realize its vision as Philippines’ land of promise.
