To strengthen its commitment in supporting the growing industry of filmmaking in Mindanao, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation, Inc. (MFTDFI), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and Philippine Information Office are holding two major activities for April 2017.
Anthony Rebamonte, Marketing Officer of FDCP announced that an Advanced Screen Writing Workshop on April 18-22 and Advanced Film Acting Workshop will be happening on April 24-29, 2017.
“This will serve as an avenue for aspiring filmmakers who are serious in their respective crafts of either screenwriting or filmmaking,” said Rebamonte on Monday during the Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City.
The two advanced workshops are designed to be more comprehensive and in-depth, for aspiring screenwriters, filmmakers and actors interested to act for film and television.
The Advanced Screenwriting Workshop is open to all participants, ages 13 and above, preferably those with writing backgrounds and filmmaking experience. Techniques in writing effective screenplays will be discussed during the workshop.
For the Advanced Film Acting Workshop, participants who may join are those with ages 16 and above, preferably those with acting experience in theatre and film/TV. It will focus on the construction and control of a character, and the keys to an outstanding performance delivery for film and television.
The workshops will be handled by both independent and mainstream industry practitioners. The official list of speakers will be posted on the official social media accounts of both Cinematheque Davao and the Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation.
Registration will start on April 3, 2017 on a first come, first serve basis. Interested participants who wished to join may contact 09493948064/09774853479 or e-mail them at mindanaofilm@outlook.com or cinemathequedavao@fdcp.ph.
