Two remote villages in Mati City, Davao Oriental will be connected to market centers as the provincial government gears up to implement the P246 million road project in the area.
Davao Oriental Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang said the road project will connect barangays Culian and Sanghay in Mati City to the national highway.
The project, Dayanghirang added, will ease the residents of their burdens of bringing their agricultural produce to the market centers in Mati City.
He also announced the approval of the P86 million allocation to complete the road concreting that will also connect barangays Libudon and Danao to Mati City.
“Completion of these road projects will pave the way to the continued delivery of government services to these villages,” Dayanghirang said on Monday.
Inaccessibility to the four barangays has hampered the delivery of primary government programs and services, the governor said.
The road projects are expected to be completed this year.
Last week, more than 6,000 poor residents in barangays Culian, Sanghay, Libudon and Danao received government goods and services through the provincial government’s regular outreach program dubbed as “Nagkakaisang Lingkod-Bayan ng Davao Oriental Barangay Outreach Caravan.”
The caravan was joined by 26 agencies from the national, regional, provincial and local levels that provided social, medical, veterinary, entrepreneurial and consultation services to the residents in the area.
