On its fifth year in the country, Uniqlo opens its first store in Mindanao region today, May 26 at SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.
Uniqlo Philippines Chief Operating Officer, Katsumi Kubota, said that they have chosen to have their first Mindanao store in Davao because they are positive with the city’s economic growth.
“We have confidence in the Mindanao market, as all of the Filipinos have shown appreciation to the Uniqlo brand since 2012, when we arrived to this country,” Kubota said during the Uniqlo’s media event on Wednesday. “We want to deliver Uniqlo all over Philippines, particularly Davao because it is the largest city in Mindanao.”
Kubota also expressed his appreciation to the Filipino customers who enjoy Uniqlo experience, from their products, services and people.
According to Kubota, they have brought most of their products to the Davao branch except for winter clothes.
They are also set to open two more branches in Mindanao, specifically in SM City Davao and SM Cagayan de Oro on June 2 and June 30, respectively.
Uniqlo is known around the world for its LifeWear-innovative clothing that is universal in design and comfortable to wear. The new Uniqlo stores will offer LifeWear essentials for men, women, kids and babies.
