“I would like to congratulate the Marfori-Dizon family for the opening of the Madeline Boutique Hotel and Suites”, said President Rodrigo Duterte during the opening of the newest comfort destination in the city, The Madeline Boutique Hotel and Suites. “Providing excellent design and quality services… hindi ko pa nga nasusubukan”, he further added that erupted the crowd, together with then President of the Republic Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, in thunderous laughter. Typical PRRD during his speeches; providing enlightenment that never fails to put a smile on everyone’s faces on any given day or time.
The Madeline Boutique Hotel and Suites is the newest comfort living destination in the city. Situated in a highly urbanized location, the boutique hotel goes beyond the typical building blocks. This 4-storey establishment is made with 30 container vans converted into 22 quaint rooms.
Present during the opening were members of the Marfori and Dizon families, VIPs in the hotel and management industry, friends and media practitioners. Leading the ribbon cutting were Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and then President of the Republic Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. President Rodrigo Duterte came in the evening and led the boutique’s unveiling.
During his speech, the President highlighted the invaluable contribution to Davao City that the family has made specifically in the promotion of tourism that has allowed opportunity and employment to numerous individuals. Of which, he boasted that (Davao) the city has one of the highest growth rate at 9.6%. “When I was Mayor in 1988, we had a growth date of 2%”.
He further stated, “This hotel does not only provide our people with rest and comfort but also raise their importance on preserving and conserving our natural resources”.
Innovation certainly makes this boutique hotel a forerunner in furthering a new generation of talent. “This structure is a commendable work of architecture as it boldy stands as an eco-friendly hotel”, he said. A green architecture hotel, it shares invaluable environmental efforts and capacity to build sustainable facilities and infrastructure detrimental in building a sustainable relationship with nature.
“It is my hope that this place would attract both local and foreign tourists who would like to experience genuine Filipino hospitality”, he ended.
The Madeline Boutique Hotel and Suites is located at J.A. Sarenas avenue, Marfori Heights, Davao City.
