The Department of Trade Industry (DTI) distributed on Thursday shared service facilities (SSF) totaling to more than PhP 2.5 million to three groups in Davao de Oro.
The identified cooperators of the SSF projects were VPI Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (VPI ARBCO), VPI Employees Cooperative (VPIEMPCO), and Maco Centro OFW Family Association (MACOFA).
A banana flour producing cooperative, VPIARBCO, received a biomass furnace (mechanical dryer) worth Php 1.68 million.
VPIEMPCO obtained the first Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for a shared service facility in the province worth PhP 677,980. The ICT equipment consists of 20 desktop computer sets with noise cancelling headsets, keyboards, mice, uninterruptible power supply, swivel chairs and web cameras.
Meanwhile, MACOFA acquired additional equipment to their Coco Beads Production worth PhP 175,500.
Atty. Lucky Seigfred Balleque, provincial director of DTI Davao de Oro, hopes that the cooperators will maintain SSFs for the betterment of their businesses.
“Our SSF projects are intended to enhance productivity and efficiency of our MSMEs but at same time generate more jobs and increase sales,” said Atty. Balleque.
According to DTI Davao de Oro, the provincial agency is maintaining 38 SSFs all over the province, and will be distributing another five projects this year. (PIA XI/ Michael Uy)
