As Davao wrapped up its weeklong Kadayawan activities last weekend, Camella Communities takes pride in its contribution to the overall festival celebration.
The real estate giant sponsored two major Kadayawan events along with Sen. Manny Villar — the ‘Villards’ tournament on August 20 to 23, and Willie Revillame’s WowoWillie Live show on August 23.
“We’re very pleased to have made major contributions to the Kadayawan Festival events through our partnership with Sen. Manny Villar. Camella Communities spared no expense in sponsoring these events, in the same manner that we go all-out when developing a project,” remarked Marlon Escalicas, GM of Camella Communities Davao.
Escalicas said bringing Villards and WowoWillie here for the Kadayawan was their treat to Davao for making Camella Communities the top real estate developer in the city.
Camella Communities and Sen. Villar gave billiards enthusiasts and fans a thrill when they presented billiard luminaries Efren “Bata” Reyes, Django Bustamante and Romy Alcano in the Kadayawan run of ‘Villards’.
Held at the NCCC Mall, the billiard tournament was also joined by local players from Davao and nearby towns who got the chance of a lifetime to play against these world-class players.
Gracing the tournament opening were Vice-Mayor Sara Duterte and Escalicas. Thousands of fans converged on the venue daily to witness the magical moves of Bata Reyes, an all-time crowd pleaser, and other billiard greats.
Reyes clinched the top prize in the Villards champion leg, followed by Ramil Gallego in 2nd place, Davao’s Gandy Valle in 3rd place, and Jomar de Ocampo in 4th. The crowd became bigger during the closing ceremony graced by Sen. Villar himself.
The WowoWillie Live show at the Agro-Industrial open field along Quimpo Boulevard was one of the much-anticipated events during the Kadayawan, with tens of thousands of fans trooping to the venue early to watch the show.
Topbilled by Willie Revillame, WowoWillie Live drew a huge crowd estimated at about a hundred thousand people, all entertained by comedian Chocoleit Vice Ganda, singers Allyna and Mae Rivera, and WowoWillie’s ASF Dancers.
Host Willie Revillame did not lose a beat even when it started to rain, and even rallied the audience to dance and sing with him. The show’s highlight was when Revillame invited Sen. Villar to join him onstage, to which the senator obliged much to the delight of the crowd. Despite getting drenched, Sen. Villar and Revillame gamely danced for the crowd in sync with the ASF dancers.
These two Kadayawan events show the real estate company’s commitment to Davao, by supporting its major festival as well as giving it world-class communities the city can be proud of.
