In this season of merrymaking and giving back, the group of TESDA Skills Assessors founded by celebrity chef Pablo “Boy” Logro organized recently a fundraising activity for the House of Hope.
TESD (Technical Education and Skills Development) Assessors and Trainers Association of the Philippines (TATAP) headed by its founding chairman Chef Boy Logro staged a dinner-for-a-cause blended with learning activity as the celebrity chef himself had a cooking demonstration as highlight of the event.
“This is our humble way to help the project by raising few thousands that could help House of Hope and its beneficiaries,” said TATAP Davao chapter president Gladys May Cuencia.
TESDA in Davao region throws in full support to the initiative of TATAP Davao Chapter. Dir. Lorenzo Macapili was inspired with the activity despite being a new organization here in Davao.
“We at TESDA are willing to assist in ways we can to support the cause of House of Hope, including scholarship for the family members of cancer patients,” Macapili said.
The House of Hope is a temporary home of for children with cancer. It has served about 5000 children and caregivers since its inauguration in August 2007. House of Hope decreased treatment abandonment and provided a clean and healing environment for children with cancer.
The celebrity chef noted that it has always been his mission to give back to the community where he came from that’s why he fully supports the TATAP – Davao Chapter.
“In this season of love and sharing, it is important that we give back. Let our organization grow and be known beyond being skills assessors but with our concern for the community,” Logro said.
A non-stock, non-profit organization, TATAP aims for the professional and personal development of TESDA assessors in terms of skills competence of assessors and trainers so that they will also produce nationally certified and globally competitive skilled workers.
The evening of cooking show and great food from the celebrity chef was highlighted by the choral presentation of the kids from the house of hope who also enjoyed the night as much as the guests. (PR)
