Manila, 16 May 2020 – Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc. (MIP), the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, and which runs a network of dealers, is resuming operations on May 18. Several Subaru dealerships in parts of the country are reopening on Monday, while MIP’s branches in the National Capital Region (NCR) will reopen starting Wednesday, May 20.
The list of dates and operating hours is available at the end.
Enhanced Measures for Customer Safety
In line with Subaru’s focus on safety, stringent measures and protocols are in place to ensure customers’ health and confidence.
Staff, customers and visitors are required to wear face masks and will have to undergo mandatory temperature checks accompanied by health declaration forms when they visit our showrooms and service centers. Those with body temperatures of 37.5°C and above will not be allowed to enter the premises and asked to seek medical attention. At the same time, entry and exit points as well as common areas will be limited.
Cleanliness and disinfection standards have also been enhanced. Sales consultation rooms, customer lounges, payment counters, parts and service areas and washroom facilities will be cleaned and sanitized daily, at the start and end of the workday. During this period, refreshments will only be served through disposable cups or in the form of bottled water.
To ensure safe distancing, the company is also limiting the number of customers in Subaru showrooms at any one time. Markers are in place to establish physical distancing of at least one metre. On test drives, a maximum of three people is allowed per vehicle – the customer, a sales consultant and a security personnel.
For aftersales services, customers are requested to schedule and confirm an appointment via phone or online before sending in their vehicles. Walk-ins are not permitted for now. Customers are strongly discouraged from waiting at service centers and should return to pick their vehicles up only after the job is completed. Customers are also advised not to bring their children along. All vehicles will be thoroughly sanitized before and after each job. Cashless payment options are encouraged.
Test Drive at Home
MIP introduced “At-Home Test Drive” in March, an initiative for customers who do not wish to travel to showrooms. Customers who are eager to get behind the wheel and experience the Subaru difference can now do so right at their doorstep in three easy steps. They may register online at https://www.subaru.asia/ph/testdriveathome or call their nearest showroom for a sales consultant to meet them.
All vehicles are thoroughly sanitized before and after test drives, following the strict protocol on all touch points, including center armrests, door handles and gear knobs. All sales consultants, who have gone through temperature checks and are cleared for visit, will also be equipped with face masks and hand sanitizers.
Extension of Aftersales Coverage
The company is also offering customers added value and peace of mind with the following parts and service initiatives:
Periodic Service Maintenance (PMS): For customers who have scheduled or missed appointments during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) a grace period of 60 days or 2,000 KM, whichever comes first, will be given.
Warranties: For customers whose vehicle warranty claims expired during the ECQ, a 60-day grace period will be implemented subject to validation under Subaru’s Standard Warranty Guidelines.
