The government of Davao City is requesting allocation for other brands of vaccines in order to be ready to servE more Dabawenyos in the rollout of booster shots.
Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao City Council COVID-19 Task Force, revealed that the city has begun administering Sinovac and Astrazeneca vaccines IN the ongoing booster rollout. However, there are many Dabawenyos who prefer Pfizer and Moderna vaccine brands for their booster doseS.
Right now, majority of the vaccines that we have administered are Sinovac and Astrazeneca because these were the brands initially served on our frontliners and senior citizens, Dr. Schlosser said.
The good doctor, however, assured Dabawenyos that City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and the local COVID-19 Task Force and vaccination clusters are doing their best to procure the needed and wanted vaccine brands by Dabawenyos.
Our authorities therefore are prepared to launch an ideal booster vaccine rollout should the need to do so arise amid the expected wave like what’s happening now in the National Capital Region (NCR).
In fact, the booster rollout has been going on for the past week in various vaccination centers and the vaccines are allowed to enter anytime and have themselves vaccinated without so much trouble.
This is reassuring to the public.
