All these domestic challenges are about to be part of the past as store unveiled last May 26, Davao’s first and only Dyson outlet.
At the event hosted by brand ambassador Bobby Yan, Dabawenyo urbanites were given first-hand experience of the full range of products offered by Dyson, the brainchild of British engineer James Dyson who invented the first bagless vacuum cleaner.
Clean air as you cool
First up was Dyson’s Pure Cool Link, a combination fan and air purifier. With Dyson’s technology the Pure Cool Link automatically removes 99.95% of harmful ultrafine particles that are as small as PM0.1 which is one thousand times smaller than a human hair.
“The Pure Cool is the perfect solution for people suffering from allergic rhinitis as it can filter out harmful dust and pollen from your room,” said Bobby, “the high-efficiency 360 degree glass HEPA filter means that potentially harmful ultrafine particles stay strapped in the filter.” The Pure Cool also utilises Dyson’s trademark Air Multiplier technology which creates a powerful jet of purified air that cools your room.
The Dyson purifier is also one smart machine as intelligent removal means that you don’t need to worry about the air in your home. Multiple sensors detect changes in conditions, before automatically adjusting airflow to maintain your target air quality. You also can monitor the quality of the air in your room with live air quality metrics which are sent straight to your Dyson Link app.
Cord free. Hassle-free. Powerful suction
Bobby next showcased Dyson’s signature product, the V8 cordless, handheld vacuum cleaner.
While every vacuum cleaner uses a motor to generate suction, not all motors are the same. Some cordless vacuum cleaners use small motors that can be weak, while others rely on heavy motors that can compromise versatility.
Thanks to the Dyson digital motor V8, which is compact but can spin at up to 110,000rpm, the Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum boasts powerful fade-free suction. And it weighs just 2.6kg.
The Dyson V8 cord-free vacuum cleaner doesn’t just clean the floor, but quickly transforms between handheld and stick modes to clean down low, up high and everywhere in-between. Building on ten years of cord-free technology and motors expertise, Dyson V8 cord-free vacuums offer several key evolutions compared to their predecessors. Increased runtime, hygienic dirt ejection, even more powerful suction and less noise generated are among the advances.
The powerful suction generated by the Dyson digital motor V8 is paired with Dyson cleaner head technology to ensure a clean home. A direct-drive cleaner head removes ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpets, while a soft roller cleaner head removes large debris and fine dust from hard floors simultaneously.
Inside Dyson cord-free vacuums, key components like the motor and battery are positioned near the hand. This shifts the centre of gravity, making the cleaning end of the vacuum much lighter, so it’s easy to clean up top and down below.
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer
What could be the most awaited product of the afternoon would be the all-new Dyson Supersonic hair dryer.
Conventional hair dryers can be bulky and difficult to manoeuvre, can blast air at high temperatures, which can cause extreme heat damage, all with the risk of hair being sucked into and trapped in the filter. Yet despite these well known limitations hair dryer design has not advanced in more than 60 years.
Rethinking the way hair dryers are designed and made, the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer uses a fast but focused airflow and is engineered for balance in the hand. Intelligent chips control the temperature to help protect hair from extreme heat damage.
Hairstylist of the stars Jing Monis, who was also at the event, is a self-confessed fan and user of the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer,. “A couple of years back, I started seeing my contacts in London raving about the Dyson Supersonic, I was really excited and asked them if I could purchase one.” shared Jing, “unfortunately, back then, those were still up for trial. So imagine the excitement I had when I was finally able to purchase the Supersonic here in the Philippines.”
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer uses Dyson’s patented Air Multiplier technology. The volume of the air drawn into the motor is amplified by three due to this technology, producing a high pressure, high velocity jet of air. Traditional hair dryers can sometimes have a weak airflow, meaning they are slow. Others can have strong airflow, but it is not necessarily controlled. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer creates a focused jet of air, angled at 20 degrees for controlled, precise drying and styling. Allowing one to dry and style at the same time.
“When using it, the Dyson Supersonic is not heavy,” added Jing, “The smart controls ensure that the air temperature is always right and the strength of the jet of air ensures that hair dries much faster. The Supersonic also comes with air nozzle attachments which use magnets for easy changing while on the fly.”
Modern times do call for modern solutions and innovations and Dyson’s vacuums, air purifier, and hair dryer are sure to made every domestic diva ever more confident and beautiful.
