It is nice to be back in Tagaytay. Almost two years after my last visit, my latest trip to Southern Luzon’s summer capital together with the people of Cebu Pacific and Summit Hotels is still, literally, a breath of fresh air.
I had stayed for the night at Tagaytay before but this recent trip was my first to stay at the posh 108-room Summit Ridge Tagaytay. Located along Gen. Aguinaldo Highway, the property sits right on the ridge of Tagaytay, ensuring a spectacular view of Lake Taal and the famous Taal Volcano, and given that the Summit Ridgeview has breezeway corridors, every room and suite of the hotel has a view of the lake.
Each room comes with comfortable beds, premium bath toiletries, air conditioning, free WiFi, rainshower head showers, and 40” LED cable TV. There is also a private balcony to really maximise your Tagaytay experience. A tour of the property reveals recreation facilities such as an infinity pool, an in-house gym, and basketball and badminton courts. There are also state-of-the-art function halls for meetings and conventions.
Cool beyond the hotel
Of course a trip to Tagaytay should not all be spent at the hotel. A stone’s throw from the Summit Ridge Hotel is the Summit Ridge Promenade where one can shop and dine among the many options offered by the mall.
There are also many interesting spots which are just a short ride from the Summit Ridge. Nature lovers will want to visit the Nurture Wellness Village. From the spa, to the organic food and the wellness farm, the Nurture Wellness Village is one good way to enjoy some rest and recreation.
For those who want to want peace and quiet, Tagaytay is also famous for its many charming retreat houses where guests can relax, meditate and rekindle their faith.
For me though, Tagaytay is a treasure chest of food. From their famous mountain pineapples, crispy tawilis, and fatty bulalo. There are many things to taste and experience in Tagaytay. Millennials will want to swing by Bag-o-beans not just for their hearty breakfast fare, but also for their charming shabby-chic spaces.
Back to the Summit
After a full day of exploring Tagaytay, I found it truly refreshing to relax and unwind back at the Summit Ridge Tagaytay with a massage at the hotel’s Ridge Spa located at the second level. Of course for the ones who are feeling a little bit lazy, the spa can arrange for an in-room massage instead.
Dining at the Summit Ridge Tagaytay is also set to become more exiting this June with a new dining concept to be opened by Chef Menoy Jimenez of Tito Chef Restaurant and All Things Culinary.
A big thank you to Summit Hotels and Cebu Pacific for the new and cool experiences in Tagaytay.
