There is nothing that brings more joy to me than eating with my bare hands. There is something primal and strangely satisfying with picking up food between your fingers, tearing it to bite-sized pieces, and finally putting it into your mouth.
This experience is amplified when one is eating crabs and shrimps. In fact, the thought of me using my hands to pry open some shells to extract the sweet briny meat from them makes be salivate while typing this up.
Although there are a few all-you-can eat crab buffets already out in Durianburg, I am glad to learn that Cafe Uno at the Waterfront Insular Davao Hotel now offers diners all the crabs one can eat for lunch on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Priced at only Php650 nett per person, the list of crab dishes extend from Chili Crab to Salted-egg Crab, to Curry Butter Crab and Salt and Pepper Crab. There are also a myriad of shrimp dishes, including Shrimp in Pepper Sauce, Chili Crispy Shrimp, and Shrimp Tempura for those who want more crustaceans on their plate. Just be sure to bring your anti-histamines.
Aside from the Crab Buffet, Cafe Uno also offers different themes for each day of the week. Monday lunches are Filipino Fiesta Buffets, Tuesdays and Sundays are Katsu Days, while Saturdays are Steak Buffet Days.
