THE SUMMIT BAR of the Royal Mandaya Hotel was filled with laughter as the Visit Davao Fun Sale committee, lead by its able president Benjie Lizada, celebrated its Thanksgiving Party for the successful running of this year’s Visit Davao Fun Sale.
Touted to be the biggest region-wide happening for the summer season, the Visit Davao Fun Sale is now one of Davao Region’s biggest tourist drawers with its kaleidoscope of events and offers.
“The Visit Davao Fun Sale started out as a city-wide sale,” said Benjie in his welcome address. “Now the VDFS offers discounted hotel stays, spa packages, tours, parties, sporting events, art exhibits, and even a pet congress.”
Department of Tourism assistant secretary Eden David was also present to support the event. “The Visit Davao Fun Sale is the biggest region-wide tourism event and we are looking forward to more tourist arrivals year-on-year because of this,” she said.
Mr. Lizada also revealed some changes for the upcoming Visit Davao Fun Sale for 2018. “The school summer break for next year will officially change to June and July and the Visit Davao Fun Sale next year will also adapt to the new schedule so look out for it.”
