DAVAO CITY’S TOURISM PLAYERS participated at the recently concluded 12th Philippine Travel Mart (PTM) held at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
“For this event, the local government of Davao is providing the major exhibition space, but we also invited the Visit Davao Sale consortium, Davao del Norte, and the Davao Hotels Resorts Sales and Marketing Association to join the exhibition,” said Davao City Tourism Office Officer Gene Rose Tecson. The booth, which Gene Rose described as a boat unified by the pillars of different tribes of Davao.
“The Davao Region has been seeing growth when in comes to tourist arrivals and tourism receipts in the past few year,” said Department of Tourism Director Roberto Alabado. “The PTM is one way to bring more local visitors to the region.
Aside from the booth at the main exhibition hall, there were also trade meetings on MICE headed by MICE-Davao execom chair Kennedy Kapulong to promote meetings, incentives, conventions, and events in Davao City.
A short dance presentation on the PTM main stage by the Kalumon Performance Ensemble was followed by a quick video presentation highlighting Davao City Tourism, Samal Island, as well as the many events around Davao Region during the recently concluded Visit Davao Fun Sale 2017.
