Make way for Arcadia

Being a dyed-in-the-wool sportsman, entrepreneur Glenn Escandor first thought of building a fitness gym and a basketball facility that will be open for membership.

From a purely sports concept, the innovative CEO-President of Escandor Development Corporation (Esdevco) added up a few details to the concept to make it cater to some social and corporate needs. From there, the blueprint went through some more revisions until finally a masterpiece shaped up.

Needless to say, the man in charge of a growing empire liked what he saw.

Thus, Arcadia was born.

The project was later given its branding Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center and evolved from a modest plan to a facility that highlights multiple amenities that will address Davao’s dearth for venues catering to social, fitness and corporate needs–in one roof.

“Arcadia is a reassurance of Esdevco’s sincere commitment to provide innovative, quality and relevant projects,” said Escandor as he takes pride of the home-grown development firm’s second major project after the Matina Enclaves’ mixed use real estate development complex. The project alone costs the firm some P250 million in exposure.

Arcadia is the epitome of every fitness buff’s dream facility. It is equipped wth the best gym equipment in the market today in Technogym, tagged by fitness gurus as the Rolls Royce of gym equipment. The fitness gym is designed to suit group and individual workouts. Its basketball center is located at the third level and is also fitted with FIBA-standard goal system and has a 1,000-seat bleachers for spectators of corporate and club tournaments. To complement these facilities, it also has a 25-meter 4-lane lapping pool, a kiddie pool and playground.

Arcadia also features function rooms ideal for the meetings, incentives, conference and exhibitions (MICE) market.

On top of it, Arcadia puts its best foot forward with feel-good, healthy food prepared in its restaurant and The Lobby Cafe. Celebrity chef Gene Gonzales was hired to prepare Arcadia’s menu which is a collection of the finest Asian and international cuisine.

Arcadia was formally blessed and inaugurated on Friday, August 3, with Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio as guest of honor. President Rodrigo Duterte was scheduled to attend the inauguration but was called off at the last minute as inclement weather conditions prevented the Presidential entourage from flying to Davao City from an engagement in Surigao.

Arcadia is now fully in operations.
