Twelve events will make up the 2018 Araw ng Dabaw Para Games set on March 1 at the iconic Rizal Park in downtown Davao.
Organizer James Infiesto revealed the events for this year’s Para Games after getting the approval of the city government under Mayor Inday Sara Duterte who has been supportive of the sports competitions for special athletes.
“We are happy to announce the staging of the raw ng Dabaw Para Games which will be one of the sporting highlights of the annual festivities,” Infiesto said.
The events are wheelchair table tennis which offers a ttal of P3,250 in cash prizes, table Tennis for the deaf (P3,250), standing /crutches table tennis (P3,250), chess: for the visually impaired (VI) (P3,250.00), chess for the orthopedically handicapped (OH) (P3,250.00), volleyball for the hearing impaired (HI) (P5,000.00), goalball for visually impaired (VI) (P5,000.00), 3 on 3 wheelchair basketball (P5,000.00), wheelaton for men (P3,250), wheelaton for women (P3,250), fun run for the visually impaired (B1-Completely Blind) (P3,250), fun run for the visually impaired (B2-Partially Blind) (P3,250), and fun run for the visually impaired women (P3,250).
Individual winners will also receive medals while the team winners will take home trophies in addition to the cash prizes.
