Floral float parade winners revealed

 

The floral floats of Kisan Lu Land Inc., Teleperformance and Davao Horse Club were declared on Sunday as winners of this year’s Floral Float Parade dubbed as Pamulak sa Kadayawan in three categories.

 

They outshone other competitors in their categories which are Dako (big), Gamay (small) and Lahi (alternative) categories, respectively.

 

Several revelers trooped to downtown Davao to witness the annual float parade despite the scorching heat of the sun.

 

The Kisan Lu Land Inc. for the Dako (big) competition winner brought home P700,000, Teleperformance, a BPO company for the Gamay (small) category winner brought home P300,000, while the Davao Horse Club of the Lahi category winner brought home P100,000.

 

Other winners in the Dako categories were the IPI Pharmaceuticals Inc. which brought home P500,000 as second place and the Philippines AirAsia brought home P300,000 as third place.

 Consolation prizes worth P50,000 were brought home by Krispy Kreme and VXI Global Holdings.

Second place for the small category is the SNR which brought home P200,000, followed by Camella Homes which bagged P100,000 for third place. 

 

Consolation prizes worth P50,000 for the small category were bagged home by Agdao Public Market (Flower Sector) and Palawan Pawnshop

 

 Dabawenyo UK also brought home P50,000 as the second place for the alternative category, followed by Man’s Best friend which brought home the third prize for the same category worth P30,000. 

 

Bigger prizes were distributed this year for the competition.

 Emmanuel “Wadab” Babao, event chairperson for Pamulak sa Kadayawan 2018, said that this year’s Floral Floats focus on a free interpretation in the celebration of life, thanksgiving for the gifts of nature, the wealth of culture, and the bounties of harvest of the city, its traditions, myths, and legends shall depict the theme or concept of the KADAYAWAN SA DABAW 2018 Celebration “STAND TALL…UNITED…RESILIENT…”

 Speaking to reporters under a huge tent set up along San Pedro Street across from City Hall, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio thanked the 11 recognized tribes for participating in the Kadayawan.
