Davao Vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag has urged the public to cooperate with the strict security measures implemented by the Davao City Police Office and Task Force Davao.
Al-ag said on Tuesday the measures being enforced by authorities aim to ensure the security of the people in the city.
“We ask for your understanding and please just submit yourself for inspection and cooperate to avoid any delays, ” he said.
He said all boundaries of the city has been filled with police and soldiers to inspect every vehicle going inside the city. Aside from the inspection in the entry points in the city, Al-ag said there also random checkpoints in the interior part of the city.
“Kung panagayoan mo og ID, please, just give your ID para magpakita sa imong identification because very important sa atoa nga kaila ta mga tao nga mosulod sa atoa (If you will be asked for ID, please give your ID to show your identity because it is very important to us that we know the people going inside the city),” he said.
Al-ag said this the order of Mayor Sara Z. Duterte who is now in Israel, to make sure all people will be safe since the town of Isulan in Sultan Kudarat has experienced another bombing last Sunday.
DCPO director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum said they are high alert and implemented tripple security deployment so that no terrorist could sneak in the city.
Tagum said the tight security being implemented in the city will include the places of convergence such as malls,worhsip areas, bars and even internet cafes since all places in Mindanao are in threat with these terror groups. He also warned these people they could not leave the city alive if they will insist to get in and make chaos.
