PRO 11 camp “lockdown” extended

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 has extended its “lockdown” for another seven days amid a surge in Covid-19 cases among its personnel, regional police spokesperson Major Eudisan Gultiano said today, Thursday.

“It is not really a lockdown, we are just only implementing a very strict requirement for civilians and to our uniformed and non-uniformed personnel,” she said.

According to Gultiano, all civilian visitors will be required to present a negative result of antigen or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test taken within 48 hours before they will be allowed to enter the camp.

She said all offices and national support units inside the camp will also be monitoring their respective personnel for strict observance of health protocols.

“We allowed work from home only for those who are pregnant and have comorbidities,” she said.

Civilian workers were also advised to stay inside the camp, Gultiano further said.

As of June 3, the total number of Covid-19 cases at PRO 11 is 499, of which 74 are active cases, 423 have recovered, and 2 have died.

Most of these active cases are currently at their isolation facility in Malagos, Calinan this city while some others are confined at different hospitals which Gultiano hopes to recover in the next few weeks.

Gultiano clarified that these personnel have no travel history except that they might have exposure to the members of their families who are positive of Covid-19.

She said the camp would remain under lockdown, unless all personnel are cleared of the infection through a swab test.
