Interfacing Development Interventions for Sustainability (IDIS) Inc. said the group together with Bantay Bukid volunteers were able to collect ?? ?????????? ?????, ??? ?????? ?? ?????????, ?? ??????? ????, ????????? ?????, ??? ????? ??????? ?? ??????? ??????? ?? ???????, ???? ?????, ??? ?????????? in the watershed area, source of a P12-billion waterworks system being built by the Apo Agua Infrastructura and Davao City Water District.
IDIS said the number of wastes collected is way higher than the previously conducted river clean-up last month where the facemask count was only 21.
“These types of wastes have a significant impact on the environment and the communities nearby,” the statement reads.
They said the majority of these wastes are made of long-lasting materials that, if discarded, will survive for hundreds of years in our environment.
The group said improperly disposed of solid wastes in the city’s next source of water is an issue that needs urgent solutions.
While it commend the actions of the Watershed Management Council and the City Government regarding the first reported improper disposal of face masks and other wastes in the river, recreational activities in the area remain unregulated and unmonitored.
“We owe it to our Bantay Bukid volunteers who regularly conduct river monitoring and clean-ups in the area to maintain the cleanliness and protection of our watersheds,” it said.
IDIS further said, “but ?? ????????? ?? ??? ??????? ?????????, ?? ??? ???? ??????????? ??? ??????????? ??? ????? ???????????,” the statement said.
IDIS asked ????????? to also do their ???? ?? ????? ??????? ?? their ?????? ??? ?????? ???? they ??????? ???? ???????? ??????? ??????, ????? ?? ???? ????????? is the ???? ???????? ????? ??????, ?? ??? ? ????? ???.
