The city government of Davao has re-implemented the Peak Hours Augmentation Bus System (PHABS) to cater to those stranded passengers and individuals going to and from their schools and workplaces in Davao City.
Dionisio Abude Jr., chief of the Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), announced that the routes for PABS are Toril, Calinan, Lasang, and Catalunan Grande. The Toril area will be catered by Land Car Incorporated (LCI), Lasang will be catered by the Golden Valley Bus Company, and Calinan and Catalunan Grande will be catered by the Davao Metro Shuttle Bus Company.
“By the instruction of Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, ang gi-address nato kay kadtong mga pasahero na dili kasakay specially kung magsugod na ang klase padulong sa ilang eskwelahan ug trabaho,” he said during the I-Speak media forum on Thursday.
The regional office of the Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB 11) has provided routes and the fare matrix.
Abude also said these buses cannot operate without a special permit from the LTFRB 11.
The routes and fares for the PABS are as follows: the time for their trip starts from 6:30 am to 9 am. While in the afternoon from 5 pm to 10 pm. Toril route will start from Toril district hall going to McArthur, Gulf View, UM Matina overpass then Roxas Avenue. However, upon going back to Toril, the bus will pass Sandawa Road. The fare from Toril to Roxas is P36.54 for regular passengers and P29.93 for seniors and students.
Calinan route will start from Gaisano Grandmall going to San Pedro then to Bankerohan then Matina, Ulas, Green Meadows, and Barangay Sto. Nino, Vistamall then back to Gaisano Grandmall.
Lasang route will start at the overpass in Lasang then Bunawan, Panacan Malagamot, NCCC Panacan, Sasa Integrated Port, SM Lanang, Gaisano mall then ends at Tionko and vice versa.
Abude said the CTTMO is also recommending that Cabantian and Buhangin be included in PABS, however, no bus company has yet applied to cater to the routes.
He said if the Cabantian route will be implemented it will start from NCCC Cabantian up to Sta. Avenue with a fare rate of P16. The return fare is P19.
Abude said this is a continuous operation until the special permit issued to bus companies will expire.
