After two police personnel were involved in a holdup incident in General Santos City on Tuesday evening, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) acting director Colonel Alberto Lupaz told the DCPO personnel to be responsible and act accordingly on or off duty.
PCMS Renante Medina of Foot Patrol and Bike Unit and PMSg Christopher Ararao of Bunawan Police Office, were allegedly involved in the robbery committed at Purok Ondok Gawan, Brgy. San Jose General Santos City. They are currently detained in the jail of the General Santos City Police Office.
The two police personnel were assigned in the DCPO.
In a statement, DCPO assured that it does not condone and tolerate personnel engaging in any acts of lawlessness or crimes and expects that this incident will be investigated thoroughly and fairly.
Meanwhile, Police Regional Office (PRO 11) regional director BGen. Benjamin Silo Jr. ordered for the said police officers and their immediate supervisors and commanders to be relieved from their posts. The two involved police personnel will also face administrative cases and will be on automatic leave of absence.
In a statement, PRO 11 was dismayed by the alleged robbery with force and intimidation; and violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act).
