A regional level top 6 drug personality was killed in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives from Sta. Ana Police Station in Barangay Leon Garcia, Davao City, Thursday morning.
Sta. Ana Police Station shared online that Rodel Omega Enad, who is also a notable thief, instead of surrendering and calmly chose to resist and opened fire on the law enforcement officer resulting in the suspect being hit.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronal Lao led the operation.
The suspect was immediately brought to the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC) by the police to be revived, however, he was declared dead on arrival (DOA) by his attending physician.
The buy-bust operation was conducted following the department’s immediate thorough monitoring of Enad and after obtaining accurate information about his illegal activities.
The Sta. Ana Police attributed the success of the operation to the continued support of the residents in providing information about the illegal activities of individuals resulting in the reduction of illegal drugs in the said barangay and Davao City.
